Relax and unwind after a long day with the Museum’s popular Happy Hour series. Mingle with friends and enjoy live music on the terrace or tour the galleries indoors. Special themed nights will be scheduled throughout the summer. Bar and light fare will be available from Toscana at the Thronson Café. Dogs on leashes are welcome outside on the Terrace and in the Copeland Sculpture Garden. Happy Hours will take place inside the Museum during inclement weather. Museum galleries are open with free admission every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Picnicking is encouraged in the Sculpture Garden. Fanm d’Ayiti (Women of Haiti) is an evening-length work for voice, flute, string quartet and electronics developed by composer/performer Nathalie Joachim. Commissioned by St. Paul Chamber Orchestra’s Liquid Music Series, Fanm d’Ayiti is a celebration of some of Haiti’s most iconic yet under recognized female artists, as well as an exploration of Joachim’s Haitian heritage. The project features original songs incorporating the recorded voices of Joachim’s grandmother and the girls choir of her family’s home farming village of Dantan; new arrangements of songs by some of the greatest known female voices in Haitian history; and recorded interviews with these artists about their lives fighting...

Meet session presenters, swap stories with your peers, and bring a short work to read at the Open Mic (3-minute time limit). Open Mic begins at 6:30 p.m. with Emcee Maria Masington. Online registration are closed. Walk up registrations will be accepted on the day of the conference. Join us for the 3rd annual Wilmington Writers Conference at the Delaware Art Museum. Drawing on the Museum’s place-centric summer exhibitions, this full-day conference will include a keynote presentation and craft talk by playwright and educator Erlina Ortiz, breakout sessions taught by area writers, networking, and a panel on how to maintain a writing life.
