Relax and unwind after a long day with the Museum’s popular Happy Hour series. Mingle with friends and enjoy live music on the terrace or tour the galleries indoors. Special themed nights will be scheduled throughout the summer. Bar and light fare will be available from Toscana at the Thronson Café. Dogs on leashes are welcome outside on the Terrace and in the Copeland Sculpture Garden. Glory of Stories introduces young visitors to art and the Museum through a story reading followed by an interactive tour of relevant works of art and a studio art project. This program encourages learning through discovery, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Ages 2 and up. Group tour reservations are required for groups of 10 or more children. A two-day workshop in painting outdoors with gouache (opaque watercolor). Techniques will include choosing a landscape composition, gouache paint handling, mixing a wide range of colors from a simplified palette, and creating textures for trees, grasses and other landscape elements. Paint provided, students bring remaining supplies. All levels. Learn a variety of techniques using mark making and color application to explore the concepts behind non-representational painting. 30 minute lunch break. All levels.
