![]() Larry Kelts, a retired scientist and 2017 Delaware Division of the Arts fellowship recipient, will discuss and read some of his ekphrastic poetry—poetry inspired by works of art. Many of these poems will consider paintings in the Delaware Art Museum. The majority of the presentation considers Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s paintings in the Pre-Raphaelite Gallery. “Rossetti’s Muses” looks at Rossetti’s paintings as expressions of his inspiration and pursuit of art through painting and poetry. Students will learn about John Ruskin’s philosophy of nature and have the opportunity for group discussion and critique at the follow up session in the Museum’s studios.
