Glory of Stories introduces young visitors to art and the Museum through a story reading followed by an interactive tour of relevant works of art and a studio art project. Reflecting on the work of Mitch Lyons, who expanded traditional clay techniques into a new form, Pyxis will pair Brahms’ magnificent Piano Quartet No. 3 with Pulitzer-winner Caroline Shaw’s piano quartet Thousandth Orange. Shaw says, “The thousandth orange you eat is just as extraordinary as the first,” and this evening is filled with music exploring how what seems new can draw boldly on what went before. As Executive Director of the Christina Cultural Arts Center, Raye has been one of the driving forces in the continued flourishing of creative arts in the Mid Atlantic region.
