Lifted! Vocal Auditions

Compete for a chance to be a part of acclaimed hip-hop choreographer Rennie Harris’s newest production, LIFTED!. If picked, you will share the stage with Rennie Harris and the historic American hip-hop dance theater company Rennie Harris Puremovement at the Delaware Art Museum’s presentation of LIFTED! at the Grand Opera House.

Voice types needed:

  • 1 soprano
  • 2 alto
  • 2 tenors

Instagram Audition

  • Video tape yourself singing one verse of Amazing Grace
  • Video must be under a minute
  • A cappella auditions are preferred
  • On January 27th between 1pm and 3pm you may come to the Museum to have your audition filmed and then published to Instagram through the Museum’s IG contest account.

Entry Requirements

  • All participants must be 18yo or older
  • Instagram page must be public to participate
  • Follow our Instagram Page @delartmuseum
  • Share the contest post

To Win

The 5 vocalist whose Instagram audition video receives the most ‘likes’ in each vocal category will be the contest finalist.  Finalist will be submitted to Rennie Harris Puremovement (RHPM) for the final decisions.

Voting will close on February 7.

Winners

In addition to performing on stage at the Grand Opera House as part of the Delaware Art Museum’s presentation of LIFTED! those chosen will receive:

  • One Membership to the Delaware Art Museum
  • One Subscription to the Delaware Art Museum Performance Series
  • Four ticket vouchers to the Grand Opera House
  • Four comps to the Delaware Art Museums presentation of LIFTED! at the Grand Opera House.

Winner Requirements

Winners must be able to:

  • Attend all rehearsals and performances.
    • Monday March 4, 6pm to 8pm
    • Tuesday, March 5, 6pm to 8pm
    • Wednesday, March 6, 1pm to 5pm (tech rehearsal)
    • Thursday, March 7, 3pm to 5pm (dress rehearsal)
    • Friday, March 8, 2pm to 10pm (rehearsal and performance)
  • Learn music for performance prior to rehearsal from recordings
