Performance: Pyxis Piano Quartet - Present from the Past @ Delaware Art Museum

Reflecting on the work of Mitch Lyons, who expanded traditional clay techniques into a new form, Pyxis will pair Brahms’ magnificent Piano Quartet No. 3 with Pulitzer-winner Caroline Shaw’s piano quartet Thousandth Orange. Shaw says, “The thousandth orange you eat is just as extraordinary as the first,” and this evening is filled with music exploring how what seems new can draw boldly on what went before.

At 7:30 p.m., a Museum curator will present a 15-minute pre-concert talk. You are also welcome to arrive early for dinner and light fare in the Museum’s Thronson Café. The concert begin at 8:00 and will feature complimentary desserts and coffee at intermission.

Season tickets are $90 for Museum Members, $105 for Non-Members, and $75 for students with a valid ID.
Individual tickets are $30 for Museum Members, $35 for Non-Members, and $25 for students.
