The Museum’s treasured painting Summertime by Edward Hopper will be featured in the Dallas Museum of Art's upcoming exhibition Hopper Drawing: A Painter’s Process (November 17, 2013–February 16, 2014). In place of this iconic work, visitors will enjoy Hopper's Lighthouse Hill on temporary loan from the Dallas Museum of Art. On view in the second floor galleries.
The Delaware Art Museum is a private, not-for-profit arts organization. It is supported by earned and contributed income and is not owned or controlled by the State of Delaware. The Museum is best known for its large collection of British Pre-Raphaelite art, works by Wilmington-native Howard Pyle and fellow American illustrators, and urban landscapes by John Sloan and his circle.

Free Sundays: Admission to the Museum is free to all visitors on Sundays. The admission fee is waived thanks to support from generous individuals.
Blue Star Museums offers free admission for military families (Memorial Day – Labor Day): The Museum joins 1,500 museums across the country to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families! This program, called Blue Star Museums, is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense. A valid military ID is required for free admission for up to five family members.

The Museum offers public tours every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Many of the artworks cannot be photographed due to copyright restrictions. Please ask one of our security staff before taking any pictures. The use of flash, tripods or video cameras is prohibited in the museum without prior permission.

Even the lightest touch can damage a work of art. Please do not touch the art. Be careful to keep your hands, bags, bodies and other people accompanying you a safe distance from the artwork. Your great-great-grandchildren will thank you.
