Rights and Reproductions

Introduction The Office of Rights and Reproductions provides images of and reproductive rights to works of art in the Museum's permanent collection and of manuscript material maintained in the Helen Farr Sloan Library. Requests include personal use, research, publications and non-printed media use (videos, CD-ROMs, websites, etc.).

Copyright restrictions on many works of art prohibit their being made available without prior written permission from the copyright holder.

The Delaware Art Museum will make every effort to inform applicants of copyrights and other restrictions that may apply to the works of art being reproduced. However, it cannot warrant that all photographic materials furnished may be freely reproduced in the absence of such notification. Institutions or individuals may claim ownership and control of copyright or reproduction rights of certain works of art.

It is the responsibility of those intending to publish photographic materials furnished by the Delaware Art Museum to ascertain what claims there may be and to assume the responsibility of compliance with the pertinent copyright restrictions.

NOTE: All copyright requests for John Sloan and Helen Farr Sloan are now being handled through the Artists Rights Society (ARS). Please contact ARS directly for further information (www.arsny.com).

To purchase photographic material, print out and complete the order form. Send the form by mail or fax to the Office of Rights and Reproductions. We will prepare and send you an invoice and contract for you to sign. Upon receipt of the signed contract and payment, we will send the image by Federal Express. Do not send payment with completed order form; this will delay processing.

Application
Conditions governing reproduction of objects in the collection of the Delaware Art Museum

Payment is required upon receipt of invoice. All payments must be in U.S. dollars written on a U.S. bank. Photographic materials will be sent upon receipt of payment. The Office of Rights and Reproduction will accept the following methods of payment:

• Money order
• Personal or business check in U.S. dollars written on a U.S. bank check
• American Express, VISA or MasterCard (send the name on the card, the account number and the expiration date)
