Annual Giving
Donate to the 2008 Spring Giving Campaign today!
The Delaware Art Museum is rapidly becoming a favorite destination for people of all ages. Financial contributions enable us to bring people together with art, to encourage creative renewal and innovative thinking, and to preserve the treasures of the past for the generations of the future. Please consider supporting this institution with a generous gift to the Museum’s 2008 Spring Giving Campaign.
Here are just a few of the ways in which your contributions help us to make a difference in the lives of so many people:
- 13,715 young people visited the Museum in 2007 (more than double the number served in 2006), participating in tours, art lessons, and other interactive learning experiences. We’re confident that number will continue to grow!
- Over 80 scholarships have been awarded through the Museum’s Red Apple Fund, a scholarship program that provides subsidies for student tours, bus transportation for school groups, and studio tuition.
- A partnership between the Museum and Art Therapy Express makes art accessible to students with special needs.
We hope you’ve had a chance to see The Baroque World of Fernando Botero, a major retrospective of this internationally renowned artist. There is still more ahead for 2008, including Garry Knox Bennett: Call Me Chairmaker, which opens in June with fun activities for the whole family. This exhibition features 52 sculptural chairs by one of the foremost contemporary furniture makers in America. And coming in October, Bare Witness: Photography by Gordon Parks is a stunning display of the work of the first African American staff photographer for Life magazine and a true renaissance man.
We are all so grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support that our friends and Members continue to give us. We treasure your commitment to the Delaware Art Museum and look forward to welcoming you to our exhibitions and programs. |
