Summer Art Camp – Session 4: Animal Tales

Come on an adventure through the Museum and explore animals in artwork such as Deborah Butterfield’s Riot and Abbott Handerson Thayer’s The Old Lion.Creative artwork will be inspired by all kinds of animals, both real and imagined. Projects include ceramic figures, cut paper designs, and roaring masks.

About Summer Art Camp

The Delaware Art Museum’s summer program for children ages 6 – 12 provides a creative experience with professional instruction in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Young artists, divided into two groups, explore drawing, painting, ceramics, and more in the Bank of America Education Wing Studio as well as throughout the Museum’s galleries and Copeland Sculpture Garden. Camp is full-day from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Each session ends with a camper art show for family and friends. Learn more.


The Delaware Art Museum is pleased to offer grants for Summer Art Camp through the Red Apple Fund for Student Enrichment. Full funding for tuition will be awarded to those who receive a Summer Art Camp Grant. All children registering for camp are eligible for scholarships unless an applicant has received funding from the Red Apple Fund in the past six months. To apply, please complete a Red Apple Summer Art Camp Grant application available at along with this registration form and return both to the Museum by April 14, 2014. All applicants will be notified of their status between April 23 – 25, 2014.
