Dark Humor Panel Discussion: Peter Williams, Lori Crawford, and Tiffany Barber

Join artists Peter Williams and Lori Crawford and the Museum’s Alfred Appel Jr. Curatorial Fellow Tiffany Barber for a profound discussion around how contemporary black artists use subversive humor in art. This panel is moderated by Julie McGee, the University of Delaware’s, Associate Professor of Black American Studies and former University Museums’ Curator of African American Art (2008-16).  Panelists will discuss their work and address themes represented in the exhibition Dark Humor that question history, identity, viewer expectations, and the currency of cultural and racial stereotypes.
