To celebrate this legendary British illustrator, an eclectic evening of period works – Edward Elgar’s Salut d’Amour, the first movement of the Sonata for Cello and Piano in g minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Rebecca Clarke’s Dumka (for violin, viola and piano) and Josef Suk’s dramatic Piano Quartet No. 1 in a minor.

About Concerts on Kentmere: Site & Sound

The 2016-2017 season of Concerts on Kentmere features chamber music performances by the Museum’s much-praised ensemble in residence, Pyxis Piano Quartet.  Returning for their 8th season, Pyxis – featuring Luigi Mazzocchi and Yang Xu (guest violins), Amy Leonard (viola), Jennifer Jie Jin (cello) and Hiroko Yamazaki (piano) – will present three exhilarating Thursday evening concerts exploring the relationship between the chamber music repertoire and the rich visual holdings of the Museum.Just prior to each concert, a Museum curator will present a brief personal insight connecting selected artworks with the evening’s musical offerings.
