Bitter Homes & Gardens presented by The Bearded Ladies
Philadelphia’s famous cabaret company, The Bearded Ladies, go back to their roots with this outdoor cabaret that asks: “If plants had voices, what would they sing?” This hour-long botanical spectacle will feature flowers, ferns, weeds, and vegetables singing and dancing their way through the big questions that face our plant brethren. Led by Jebediah Eatin-Good, a friendly ear of corn, this bio-diverse cabaret features a range of music from Bill Withers, Bob Dylan, and Tom Waits to RaeLynn and Faith Hill, as well as original songs by resident composer Heath Allen. Join The Bearded Ladies afterwards for a post-show talk on satire.
Adults and families welcome. Bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets. Performance will take place in the Copeland Sculpture Garden (indoors if inclement weather). Food and drinks available in the Thronson Café by Toscana. Click here to preorder a meal by Monday, August 15.
This program is made possible by the Mary Page and Tom Evans Fund.
