This class is designed for high school students with a passion for art, an interest in creating a portfolio, or a desire to continue studying art after high school. The aim of this course is to introduce a variety of painting techniques, vocabulary, and media. Classes will consist of drawing and painting exercises as well as participating in demonstrations and critiques. This class will also help interested students build and expand their portfolio. (Ages 6 – 9) A fun Tuesday afternoon children’s clay class! Children will be able to relax and enjoy the magical qualities of clay while they explore this versatile medium. Everyone will create wacky and beautiful clay objects by rolling, pinching, coiling, and painting, often laughing all the way.

(Ages 1 – 14) Students will learn the fundamentals of art in the Museum’s Studio. Basic drawing, painting, and sculpting will be explored, focusing on processes and techniques. Art history will be discussed, including visits to the Museum galleries, focusing on artists in the collection. Students will learn creative techniques and develop an appreciation for art.

(Ages 10 – 13) In this class the basic fundamentals of art are taught, developed and practiced, leading kids to make fun works of art. The Class will focus on drawing, with additional painting and sculpting projects. Various artists featured in the Museum’s collection will help students draw inspiration. Art projects will be big and small, and students will work individually and in groups. The goal is for kids to love their creations and develop a new appreciation for art!
Printmaking Workshop for Kids

(Ages 7 – 11) In this one day workshop, kids will learn how to recreate their artwork over-and-over, using a variety of printmaking techniques. After looking at prints in the Delaware Art Museum’s galleries, kids will use basic materials, such as mat board and Styrofoam trays, to make relief prints. Supplies will be provided. Bring a snack.
