From Drawing to Painting

REGISTER

Starting with drawing and transitioning into painting, students of all levels will explore a variety of subjects through still lifes and photographs in this relaxed class. Students progress to a medium of their choosing and receive plenty of individual attention.

Drawing with Color

This course is designed for students to introduce color drawing media into their practice. Students will experiment with colored pencils, pastels and watercolors to add a different dimension to their artwork.

Practice basic drawing techniques. Gesture, contour, quality of line, composition, form, and perspective will be emphasized. Working from observation is the basis of this course, but individual expression is the goal.

Watercolors

Sketchbook Studio

In this weekly sketchbook support group, participants will discuss a new material and topics, spending time to work in their own sketchbooks while sharing ideas and inspiration with classmates. Topics covered will include current trends, sketching in public, how to keep the momentum going, and how to get “unstuck.”

Oil Painting

Continuing Watercolors

This is a good basic course for beginner and intermediate painters interested in acrylic or gouache painting.
