From Drawing to Painting

Starting with drawing and transitioning into painting, students of all levels will explore a variety of subjects through still lifes and photographs. Students will also experiment with charcoal, conté, pastels, and water-based media, including acrylic and water-soluble oils for painting.

Ink and Watercolor

Discover ink techniques to achieve details and values. Learn to make paintings as simple or as detailed as you like, using washes of color over ink. This class is a relaxed environment with no previous watercolor or drawing skills necessary.

Intro to Acrylic Painting

As an introduction to acrylic painting, the instructor will advise students on materials and methods while providing individual instruction tailored to each student’s particular needs and interests. The class will study various artists for inspiration.

Beginning Drawing

Watercolors

This watercolor class is designed to provide students with all the necessary skills to take command of their watercolor paintings. Classes will cover materials, techniques, and paint application methods that keep watercolors fresh and airy.

Landscape Painting

Using photographic reference and looking at examples of historic and contemporary landscape painting, students will learn how to compose outdoor scenery. Methods and materials will be tailored to each student’s individual interests.
