The Delaware Art Museum offers Homeschool families a wonderful art education experience through a variety of programs and art classes! Kids will build a foundation for visual arts as well as hone their observation and critical thinking skills through discussions of works in the Museum’s collection and special exhibitions, creation of their own artwork, and/or reading and writing assignments that extend the student’s learning experience beyond the galleries.
Homeschool Programs are designed for different age groups and are offered as four-week sessions. Homeschool families can choose to sign up for one or more session. Children will be automatically enrolled into the appropriate program based on their age.

Registration & Refund Procedures
Registration is first come, first served. Registrations will not be taken over the phone. Families will be contacted if a session is full or has been canceled. Payment is due in full with registration. A full refund is issued only when a written request is received at least five business days before the first class meeting or if a session has been canceled. No refunds will be issued after the first day of class. Refunds and credits cannot be issued for classes missed as a result of illness, personal emergencies, or any other event.
Once a session’s enrollment is full, a waiting list will be established. The Education Department will contact those on the list if space becomes available. Students on waiting lists are not registered and may not attend class without clearance from the Education Department.
Parents/Guardians and Siblings
Parents/guardians with children attending Glory of Stories are required to stay with their child during the story and tour portion of the program and may be asked to assist during the art activity. Parents/guardians with children registered in Story Club for Homeschoolers are required to stay on the Museum’s property and can volunteer to chaperone a group in advance. Parents/guardians may be asked by Museum staff and Docents to chaperone if needed. Chaperones are responsible for ensuring the safety of the children and assisting Museum Staff and Docents with any behavioral issues.
Museum Admission fees are waived for parents/guardians with children participating in Story Club for Homeschoolers and Glory of Stories. Waived admission applies only during program hours. Parents/guardians are welcome to wait in designated seating areas or the Thronson Café.
Siblings who are not registered in the program are not allowed to participate during the art activity, but may follow along and observe with a parent/guardian assigned to chaperone. All other unregistered guests are unable to participate.
