ArtSmart Events are collaborations between the Delaware Art Museum and area schools. Visual art teachers use the Museum’s permanent collection and/or special exhibitions as inspiration for various classroom projects, which form the exhibitions of student work on view during the following evenings.
Student Music Workshop Wednesday, May 21 Teachers, your students will enjoy this interactive learning experience of Latin American sounds and rhythms! In this workshop, SIORA, a contemporary world jazz ensemble that plays music from around the world, will teach two distinct rhythms from “south of the border”: Afro-Cuban 6-8 rhythm and Brazilian samba.
School Tours Guided tours of the Museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions are available for School Groups. These tours are led by trained Docents and are available Tuesday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Due to the high demand for guided tours, it is suggested that reservations be made at least four weeks in advance.
The Red Apple Fund for Student Enrichment The Red Apple Fund for Student Enrichment was inaugurated in 2006 to further the Delaware Art Museum’s educational mission. The Red Apple Fund will finance tours of the Museum for school groups in academic levels ranging from kindergarten through grade 12 as well as individual enrollment in studio art classes and seasonal camps that teach the fundamentals of art.
