Art Camp
Seasonal art camp sessions are offered throughout the year for children, giving kids a chance to explore their creativity and develop new abilities when school is out of session. Red Apple grants may be available.


Art of Storytelling

The Art of Storytelling
The Art of Storytelling is an interactive program for children produced through a collaboration between the Delaware Art Museum and Night Kitchen Interactive, a multimedia design firm specializing in online learning and interactive exhibitions.


ArtSmart ArtSmart

ArtSmart Events are collaborations between the Delaware Art Museum and area schools. Visual art teachers use the Museum’s permanent collection and/or special exhibitions as inspiration for various classroom projects, which form the exhibitions of student work on view during the following evenings.

Glory of Stories

Glory of Stories
Due to an overwhelming response, Glory of Stories is now offered every Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The program includes a story reading for preschool and younger home-school children. Glory of Stories is now available at a special time for homeschool families. Glory of Stories is also offered for Homeshoolers or large Groups.


Homeschool Tour Progam Homeschool Progams
Especially designed to meet the needs of homeschool students and their families, the Delaware Art Museum’s homeschool tour program offers students a wonderful art education experience! Students will build their vocabulary for looking at art, explore various artists and art movements, and develop an understanding of the Museum’s collection and special exhibitions.

Kids' Corner Gallery

Kids' Corner Gallery
Kids’ Corner is a unique area within the Museum where children finally have the freedom to touch the art on the walls and even design their own artwork.


Red Apple Fund Red Apple Fund
The Red Apple Fund for Student Enrichment was inaugurated in 2006 to further the Delaware Art Museum’s educational mission.  The Red Apple Fund will finance tours of the Museum for school groups in academic levels ranging from kindergarten through grade 12 as well as individual enrollment in studio art classes and seasonal camps that teach the fundamentals of art.

In celebration of Better Hearing and Speech Month, the Delaware Art Museum welcomes guests to a presentation by Executive Director Danielle Rice about the Museum’s collection. Computer Assisted Real Time Captioning (CART) will be provided.

Student Music Workshop

Student Music Workshop

Teachers, your students will enjoy this interactive learning experience of Latin American sounds and rhythms! In this workshop, SIORA, a contemporary world jazz ensemble that plays music from around the world, will teach two distinct rhythms from “south of the border”:  Afro-Cuban 6-8 rhythm and Brazilian samba.

Studio Art Program
The Delaware Art Museum offers a variety of studio art classes for adults, teens, and youth of all skill levels. In addition, art history lectures can broaden one’s horizon to multiple movements in the art world.

The Teen Initiative is a forum created by teenagers from a number of Wilmington schools. Their mission is to develop and foster teen-focused programs that promote the arts and the Delaware Art Museum to their generation.

War-Themed Musical Performance War-Themed Musical Performance

Charlie Zahm is one of the most popular soloists of early American music east of the Mississippi. In conjunction with the Museum’s exhibition This is War!, this interactive and compelling program celebrates the power of music in providing a window into the past through time-honored oral traditions of recitation and song.
