Museum Council

If you are passionate about art and its importance in our community, we hope you’ll consider joining the Delaware Art Museum Council. Founded in 1967 by a group of women dedicated to fundraising for the Museum, our group has evolved into a diverse group of men and women who all share a desire to make the Museum a success and an integral part of our community. We believe the Museum is truly a gem and would like to connect it with as many people as possible.

What makes our group unique is that we balance social activities and art enrichment with fundraising and friend-raising. We like to say, “we mix business with pleasure.” Our personal mission is to grow our organization so that it offers something for ALL its members—and each new member brings new interests and new energy.

We hope you’ll take some time to read about us—and join us. If you have a special interest, bring it to our meetings. If you have a special passion, please share it with us. New this year, we are also offering “free” studio time for people who like to make art.

If you have questions—and we hope you do!—please contact us at
