Edgar A. Thronson Board Room

The Edgar A. Thronson Board Room is located on the second floor of the Museum’s office wing and accommodates approximately 35 people around a square table. The large size of this room makes it useful for business meetings and training sessions. The atmosphere is airy thanks to large windows on both ends of the room, which can also be curtained. The walls at the head of the room slide to reveal a dry-erase board. A projection screen lowers from the ceiling. Free Wi-Fi and hard-wired Internet access are
available. A conference telephone and a projector can be provided upon request.

Jefferson Meeting Room

The Jefferson Meeting Room is located in the lower level of the Museum, adjoining a lobby that also opens onto the DuPont Auditorium and a small terrace. A long, board-style table seats about 15 people. The Jefferson Meeting Room has a private feel, with a single window near the back that can be curtained. The window looks out into the terrace, which can be made accessible to your guests. The walls at the head of the Jefferson Meeting Room slide to reveal a dry-erase board that can also function as a projection screen. Free Wi-Fi and hard-wired Internet access are available. A conference telephone and a projector can be provided upon request.

DuPont Auditorium

The DuPont Auditorium is located in the lower level of the Museum, adjoining a lobby that also opens onto the Jefferson Meeting Room. This theater-style space, perfect for business presentations and award ceremonies, features a well-lit stage and seating for 166 people. A large projection screen descends and retracts from above the stage. VCR, CD, and DVD players provide stereo-sound reproduction. PowerPoint presentations can be conducted from the podium on the stage. A laptop PC and/or a laser pointer will be provided upon request. Free Wi-Fi
and hard-wired Internet access are available, along with wireless and wired microphones. Two wireless microphones can be run simultaneously. The entrance, seating, and the stage are all handicap-accessible.

Event Spaces

The Delaware Art Museum can play host to a number of social affairs, such as networking events, cocktail parties, rehearsal dinners, weddings, and other celebrations.

Catherine A. Fusco Grand Hall

Catherine A. Fusco Grand Hall and the adjoining galleries constitute the original building of the Delaware Art Museum, which first opened in 1938. Entrances are located at both ends of the Grand Hall. The North entrance, surrounded by the installation of Dale Chihuly’s Persian Window, leads to a paved terrace and a view of the Copeland Sculpture Garden. The South entrance looks onto scenic Kentmere Parkway. The floors are hardwood and the ceiling is very high. The works of art on view in Fusco Hall are rotated on a regular basis. This sophisticated social

space is excellent for seated dinners or parties. Catherine A. Fusco Grand Hall accommodates 300 standing guests or 125 for a seated dinner.

North Terrace

The North Terrace faces the brick façade of the Museum’s entrance and leads into Catherine A. Fusco Grand Hall. Additionally, it looks over the Copeland Sculpture Garden, including works by important contemporary sculptors like Tom Otterness and George Rickey, and a horizon of magnificent trees. Tenting is available for this venue, perfect for receptions, cocktail parties, and seated dinners. The North Terrace can be rented alone or jointly with Catherine A. Fusco Grand Hall. When they are utilized together, the number of guests will determine which space will be used for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and which for the seated dinner. The North Terrace accommodates 400 standing guests or 250 for a seated dinner.

Chihuly Bridge

The Chihuly Bridge extends along Dale Chihuly’s entrance-framing installation Persian Window and overlooks Catherine A. Fusco Grand Hall. Guests will be face-to-face with several brightly colored glass sculptures, called Persians by the artist, which come alive with sunlight or track lighting and contribute to the social atmosphere. The Chihuly Bridge offers a unique venue for a small seated dinner. This space accommodates 30 for a seated dinner.

East Court

The East Court is located on the first floor of the Museum, adjoining Galleries 8, 9, and 10. The floors are hardwood, and a Steinway Concert Grand piano is available. A floating staircase near the center leads to the second floor. The colorful geometric shapes of Rome II and gentle shifting of the ceiling-hung Black Crescent create a sense of movement. This highlights the social atmosphere of the East Court, perfect for a reception, cocktail party, High Tea, or intimate seated dinner. The East Court accommodates 200 standing guests or 90 for a seated dinner.
